There are three main components in the Stakeholder Conservation Strategy for the Lesser Prairie-Chicken:

Stakeholder Conservation Plan

The SCP is a habitat conservation plan that complies with the ESA in order to secure an incidental take permit for programmatic multi-sector use that, once approved, will improve and conserve habitat for the LEPC across the species' five-state range.

Habitat Quantification Tool

The HQT is a science-based system of measurements used to quantify habitat conditions in functional acres, assuring consistent and accurate assessment of impacts and conservation actions.

Habitat Exchange Agreement

The HEA establishes a credit trading system (the Exchange), allowing developers to purchase credits (representing conservation) generated by landowners for mitigation and benefit of the species.
